Sparkassen-Skiarena
The Sparkassen Skiarena is located about 4 km outside the centre of Oberwiesenthal. With an altitude of approx. 1100m, the sports facility is one of the most snow-sure places in Germany.
The ski lodge and the adjoining complex offer changing rooms and plenty of space for team meetings.
History Book
The races to decide the winners of the Nordic Combined and Cross-Country Skiing disciplines in the FIS Nordic Junior and U23 Cross-Country World Ski Championships took place in the Sparkasse-Skiarena from 28 February to 8 March 2020.

"Here in Oberwiesenthal, we have almost ideal training conditions in both summer and winter. The roller skiing trail is one of the most varied and challenging that I know. The climate and geography are also suitable for endurance training courses. Preparations for the World Junior Championships 2020 enabled the training facilities to be further improved with a new network of cross-country trails, artificial snow systems and expanded ski waxing facilities."

The biathlon shooting range was completed one year earlier. In preparation for the Junior World Championships, 2020/21 sees the restructuring of the ski stadium and the relocation and expansion of the biathlon shooting range.
